Perhaps her views on abortion is why she defines herself as 'mildly' pro-choice. Would you define someone who is against abortion except in cases of rape, incest and life of mother to be pro life, or mildly pro choice? Depends on many factors...you oversimplify. But if they fight for the rest of the pro-life agenda, I would call them Pro-life, with a real strange cognitive dissonance. That describes President Bush.
Most serious pro-lifers make an exception for the life of the mother...although as C. Everett Coop, who delivered thousands of babies, says, it almost never happens. He never had it happen once. It is a red herring used to derail the pro-life debate.
But, intellectually, it is silly to support killing babies who are the product of rape or incest. They didn't do the wrong.
I support making rape or incest capital crimes once again. Kill the guilty, save the innocent...

So you have to fight a particular agenda to be labeled accordingly? I don't think it is oversimplified. If Condi were otherwise pro-life, with these exceptions, and chooses to call herself mildly pro-choice, isn't that term correct? This has nothing to do with whether you believe rape and incest should be capital crimes. This is about what Condi defines as mildly pro-choice versus the definition of pro-life with exceptions.
If the circumstances are the same, then to me, the terms mildly pro-choice and pro-life with exceptions mean the exact same thing. But because of politics, on side will claim one definition while the other side claims the other.

It is a red herring used to derail the pro-life debate. I know the left likes to throw that around for every excuse possibly in an attempt to keep all types of abortion legal
I admit that it bothers me when they do that
But I also have to admit that there are some cases where it is true
And I think that is what Condi meant .. those rare cases
