If mildly pro choice means "in cases of endangerment of the mothers life", I can live with that, but otherwise....no. What if it means (1) restoring states' authority over abortion again, and (2) first working to convinct the public that a six-month fetus is a baby, then working to convince them that a five-month fetus is a baby, etc. and only pushing strongly for restrictions that have broad concensus support?
The left knows how to work slowly toward an end. It's time that conservatives started using the same techniques.

Excellent point. Would love to change public opinion, then the law would follow.

If the court reflects President Bushes views and White, Kennedy, O'Connor,Bryer, and Bader Ginsberg retire, I believe it is probable that this issue will go back to the states where it belongs. However if the Supreme Court does what it did in the 1857 case of Dred Scott v. Sandford. Once that case was reversed and blacks were recognized to have all rights guaranteed by the constitution, then stare decisis which predated that supreme court ruling was inverted. The fight will then go to the states. It will essentially reflect the red states and blue states status on this issue, in my opinion.

Bless you! I agree 100%!
I keep saying, the only reason we can't even get the disgusting practice of partial birth abortion outlawed is because of the hard-nosed "either-or" radical stance of the pro-life movement.
