You cannot change hearts and minds with absolutism right off the bat. While I am as pro-life as anyone, I understand that I will not convince my pro-choice friends of my position and the reasons behind it if I condemn them as murderers everytime we speak of the issue. The 2 sides screaming at each other will not solve the problem of 40+ million unborn dead since 1973. The SC justices who rendered that decision will burn in Hell for Eternity, but that does not solve the problem right now that Roe is the law of the land and until we can change the fundamental thinking of this country, we cannot change the law.

As for Dr. Rice, when she states that she is "mildly pro-choice," I am willing to give her an open mind and not judge her until I hear how she explains her position. Is she pro-choice in terms of the president, whom I think does support abortion in cases of danger to the life of the mother, rape, or incest? Or is she pro-choice in supporting abortion on demand?

I agree with you on this with one exception. There are many Christians and pro lifers who believe if these justices had made an affirmation to Christ, then not matter their judical decision(s), they are heaven bound.

Point(s) well taken.

I know some people don't view abortion as murder, which is difficult for me to accept, let alone understand. I view abortion as no different from someone walking up to an innocent person on the street and stabbing him repeatedly with a knife until he's dead. Thus, my abhorrence for it.

I'm not sure how frequently *authentic* cases for "the life of the mother" come up. My guess is not very frequently at all.

With regards to abortion because of rape and incest, I view it as no different from someone walking up to an innocent person on the street and stabbing him repeatedly with a knife until he's dead "because" some *other* person wronged him.

So, I just have a major problem with murder. As FR is a conservative forum, I feel comfortable saying this. I do not accost random strangers on the street shouting in their faces over this issue.

If transcribed accurately in the original article, Rice's words speak for themselves. I don't really need to hear anything else unless she changes her opinion.
