87% of whites in Tenn did not vote for Bush, or anywhere close to it, nor did they in Miss, although in the latter it was probably 80%. Did you mean 'blacks'?
Seems like it would have been pretty tough to win those two states' electoral votes if you meant 'whites'.

Bush did not win 87% of the white vote in either Tenn or Miss. In Tenn, maybe about 15% of the voters are black. In Miss, maybe 35%. You do the math, assuming maybe 10% of the black vote went to Bush.

I think those figures include all of those who did not vote at all, registered or unregistered, rather than just those who voted specifically against Bush.
