God bless your right to say it.

And may God judge unrepentant murderers justly.

Here on earth, murderers should be dealt with harshly.

"But you inadvertantly stumbled into one truth, murder isn't a federal matter."

Correct. But Roe v. Wade made it a Federal matter by overturning 38 state laws forbidding abortion. I would be happy to go back to pre-Roe v. Wade. That would reduce abortions. I would be happy to pass the amendment with the exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother. That would reduce abortions. But I would be happiest with all states outlawing the procedure and treating it as murder.

Murder of the child is not justified by rape or incest. If it were, you could kill the child after its birth just as well.

There is no medical case where the life of the mother requires an abortion. A C-section solves pre-eclamsia just fine. A tubal pregnancy kills the baby and the mom, so you might as well save the mom.

All this talk about "Rice for president" has been foolish, from the start.

American voters are not going to elect someone who is cutting her teeth on elective office by running for the highest post in the land.

Laura bush said it:

And White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer said it:

That's the best all that Googling could net you?

We didn't elect Laura Bush or Ari Fleisher.

She might be. Depends on what she advocates on the subject. Just like everyone else.

I am not sure where Condi and I differ. I am not sure anybody does, because she has not laid her position out. Granted her chat about keeping the government out of the abortion issue before observing where it should be in (partial birth abortion, parental notification) was rather mindless I have to admit. Libertarian cant is so often that way, to wit, a useful dodge for facing up to the tough choices, and balancing tests.

You have no idea how many Republicans believe in the three exception rule. I guess we're all as bad as democrats. Yawn.

That I understand. It just seemed weird to see innocent life. We are all guilty of something, some more so than others.

I'll lose four years if it means the Republican party will return to it's pro-life plank.

Oh, you will, will you?

Well, let me be the first person from the GOP to tell you this: we're tired of hearing about how you'll sit home if we don't do exactly what you think.

We're tired of being blackmailed by people like you who put your one issue before the good of this country.

You go right ahead and stay home and let a liberal be elected.

Then you come on back to the GOP and say "See what we can do to you, now let us back in."

I'm sure the door will be WIDE OPEN for you all.

Remember one thing: you keep staying you're going to sit home to teach the GOP a lesson: you need us more than we need you: there aren't enough of YOU by yourselves to elect anybody.

That's twice this week we've agreed.

Armageddon must be at hand! ;-)

I agree with that. Here on earth. But that doesn't mean compassion can't come with the needle. And I don't presume to know who is or is not repentant. Thankfully that's above my pay grade!

That's Condi's position, if she doesn't believe the government has a role to play.

But that's not what she said. She said the federal government should not force its view on the states. In other words, states should be able to outlaw abortion if they so desire -- the libertarian view.

"We should not have the federal government in a position where it is forcing its views on one side or the other."

Torie is polite even when wrong.

I was actually dumb and naive enough to believe that Rice had had some Road to Damascus epiphany over abortion and was interested in seeing the proof.

Alas....The Emporer remains neekid.

Yeah, and how many here have said "no" for women with an ectopic pregnancy?

Uh, what? You must be trying to say something, but it's anyone's guess what it is.
