Oh? Taking you literally, it seems that if a woman were carrying a child and it was virtually certain that carrying the child to term will kill them both, you'd choose to let them both die. I, being pro-life, would opt for the abortion and save one.
>>> No President will. If that's the only reason some here won't vote for her then to hell with them.>>>
You got that right Hildy.
Do you have any source to back that up with?
Thank You.
Where do you have a link about what Condi proposes. That does not jibe with Drudge's alert verbage.
I would like to see her quoted as saying she is for outlawing abortion except in incest, rape, or life or death cases of mother....almost unheard of today..btw
Help me out. That is a big change from "opposing governmental interference or being reluctantly pro-choice"
Never said you had to embrace them
What if it means (1) restoring states' authority over abortion again, and (2) first working to convinct the public that a six-month fetus is a baby, then working to convince them that a five-month fetus is a baby, etc. and only pushing strongly for restrictions that have broad concensus support?
The left knows how to work slowly toward an end. It's time that conservatives started using the same techniques.
I do not agree.
I believe the Republicans are winning because they are more on the side of "Get government off our backs" and because we have seen how liberalism is a dead end street.
There are more David Horowitz's, P.J. O'Rourke's, Ron Silver's and others like me that left the Democratic Party for reasons that have nothing to do with abortion.
I will vote for the Republican if he/she is Pro life or pro-choice.
Anything else is simply stunningly stupid.
Ah, but there is the rub. That third 'case' you cite is where the nebulous part of 'ethical' comes in. Sort of like the meaning of 'is'.
The first thing I did on 9/11 was go to church to pray that those men realize the evil of their deeds. They needed our prayers. So do the women who have abortions.
Goodness knows, I'm nowhere even in spitting distance of perfect, but that seems closer to a christian response than calling women I don't know scum.
I agree it isnt. Theres that other small matter that is driving everone crazy...something about the borders I think.
lol
Ooooops was I allowed to say borders....sorry my bad.
I know this...what I said is take that number away from the final vote and we lose. Do we not?
The post of mine you quoted... I don't believe I saw Condi's name there.
I have never seen Rice describe herself as pro-life with the three exceptions rule.
You and Peach are claiming that.
I want to see it.
Where is it?
I used to think the world of Condi until I recently found out about her pro-abortion stance. I would NEVER vote for her now.
Isn't being mildly pro-choice a bit like being "a little pregnant?" Libertarian, huh?
I'm quite po'd at her, AND Rudy Giuliani who is pro-partial birth abortion.
There are plenty of people posting here who say you can't be "pro-life" "with exceptions" because pro-life means no exceptions period.
I'm sick and tired of that "Hillary" boogieman line. And if we vote for the "this person can win" type, we'll lose anyway. "Kerry's well known and at least he isn't Bush". "Dole's not Klinton".
We stand for something or we fall for anything.
Excellent point. Would love to change public opinion, then the law would follow.
