they are. they would not support Rudy Giuliani either. I am convinced that many conservative would rather see Hillary win in 08, then go into a "scorched earth" mode against her using the Congress.

Hopefully Republicans won't nominate someone like Rice, Giuliani, or McCain.

Let's run Doyle again!

We don't even know what "mildly pro-choice" means. It could mean she is against abortion except for cases of rape and incest. We should let her clarify her position before outright rejecting her.

I hope that when the time comes we're not actually stupid enough to set up a showdown between Condi and Hitlery 2008. In doing so we'd just be putting a Democrat in the White House. There's a great deal of time until 2008, so I'm not going to worry about it for now.

I think Rudy Giuliani kicks butt and would love to see him rather than say my own US Senator McCain. I trust Rudy. I do not trust McCain.

alot of FReepers are one issue voters..........I am not. They have that right but I'm going to look at all the pros and cons of an issue.....ie:.. a pro lifer weak on defense would not get my vote since that issues is more overriding. Too many one issuer voters also won't vote if "their" one issue isn't addressed thus assuring an even worse result most of the time......picking up your toys and going home seems to be a weak minded alternative

If mildly pro choice means "in cases of endangerment of the mothers life", I can live with that, but otherwise....no. The democrats are proabortion, the republicans prolife. If that ever changes, there is little differentiation of the parties which supercedes this singular factor. How can a person pursue liberty and happiness if his or her life which is endowed by our Creator is denied by men? Heaven help this country to understand this. Let's fight about budgets, taxes, foreign policies,.....but if we forget the fact that we are endowed by our Creator with unalienable rights of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness, this constitutional republic will be a large footnote to history.

Do the three exceptions make on 'slightly pro-choice'

Rape
Incest
Life of the mother

If she is on the ticket on '08, I'll either stay home or vote for the Constitution Party.

She would spell the total destruction of the GOP, as there prime core in the last few elections is evangelical Christians.

It's easy to hang out only on FRee Republic and think your opinion is shared by many.

It's not even shared by a lot of people here.

You don't say you're libertarian over abortion if you just think abortion should be reserved for only rape, incest, or for the health of the mother.

I am NOT voting for a "slighty" pro-death candidate.

Can you kindly explain to me how you can equate 'pro choice' with 'pro death?'

Did she even mention what party she planned running in? I wouldn't vote for her. She has never even held elective office before. Perhaps she should try running for a house seat or perhaps even the Senate first.

My motto is Pro-Choice: Will Kill for Sex

On that note, social conservatives need to understand that Rice or Clinton [gasp] will have little to no effect on overturning Roe V Wade. Note that even Pres Bush can't get his judicial nominees out for a floor vote.

The primary issue for the next decade is Terrorism, Immigration, Nuclear Proliferation. Condi is well suited to handle these issues.

Sitting out because of her position on abortion is grossly stupid. Perhaps thats why we are known as the Stupid Party.

I want to see the Washington Times interview before commenting on this.

That said, she's not my first choice anyway. Mark Sanford is.

"I am mostly pro-life and somewhat pro-choice. What about it?"

I'd say YOU and Condi Rice ought to get together for a Planned Parenthood luncheon.
