I read (MSNBC) that the shooting took place at ~8 AM EST.

It was around 9A ET. I drove through the Spring & Marietta Sts. intersection at about 3 'til 9. From what I understand, one of the carjackings was at that same intersection at about 4 or 5 AFTER 9.

As remarkable as many of the details about these events are, I'm still kind of struck by the AJC reporter's comment that he saw a black male with no shirt and "thought he was in town for the [SEC] basketball tournament."

WTF?

WHOA - that is way too close for comfort.

Glad we're not hearing about your close encounter with this guy.

I was just talking to a friend down at the courthouse - we all have the idea that this sort of thing may happen in the backs of our minds . . . but it only comes to the forefront now and then . . . like today.

Creepy coincidence . . . I have a case from this judge on my desk right now.

Wow! Thanks, mh! As usual, FR is way ahead of the MSM.

After the Rodney King verdict in '92, Atlanta went through some bad rioting downtown. I worked for the State of Georgia at the time. I had to leave work early for an emergency doctor appointment. As I drove across MLK Blvd. I see a gang of kids yelling and screaming. I didn't think twice about it. Turns out I missed being in the middle of the riot by minutes.

Glad to hear you missed this mess this morning.
