Well yeah, obviously, but I'm not thinking the court reporter was enough of a threat to kill him. Even if this was vengeance, the D.A. was unharmed.
The only thing I can think of is if the court reporter tried to subdue the gunman...
Or, he simply shot the person in order to demonstrate he meant business, and frighten everyone else away?
