There was a picture posted of about 5 (4 men and a woman) of the deputies outside the courthouse and with the exception of 1 of them I don't think ANY of them would have made it.
Guess physical fitness requirements for both sexes aren't PC.
Oh, I hope your relatives are all home and safely inside their locked doors. I would hate to live anywhere near there right now.
For those non-Atlanta FReepers who may find this a bit curious, what most folks call "Atlanta" consists of parts of 6-8 counties and maybe 25 different municipalities. The City of Atlanta itself is in three different counties.
I would imagine GA has the death penalty.
Escaped prisoners generally are able to be restrained. HOWEVER, i do not see a trial happening on this one if he gets caught alive. I do see a plea in exchange for life w/ no prayer for parol.

I was a Ass't DA for 5 1/2 years, the in private practice for 4 years, then served one term (4 years) as the elected DA. I have now been in private practice for 6 years. The times as a prosecutor was in Southern Oklahoma.
It is just common sense that you would not choose a 110 cop Bobby when there are other choices available.

At least check out WRAL.com once in awhile to keep abreast--if only for your own safety. As for me, only a family emergency and a carload of people with me would get me to go to an ATM late at night, Skeleton mask guy or not.
Yes, I'm watching Fox. I'm not an Atlantan, and know nothing about where/why the choppers are. Someone earlier said there were a bunch of police officers around Georgia Tech, I believe, but I haven't heard anything more.
Just got home from work where FR is blocked. I figured it was a female deputy and having been in that illustrious building many times they are all out of shape. I saw a handfull out of hundreds that were fit; I assumed they were non county or non assigned to the court. They have really swell bluster though.
Feel bad for all. I voted for the judge in the last election.

The perp is black. The judge he shot is white. If you think that these facts are insufficient to establish a "racial angle" in the minds of a significant subset of underclass blacks in America today then you are a fool.
