The speaker in the news conference just directly contradicted that. Said they now believe it was 'another method'.I trust the doctor on this. I think the deputy chief may have misunderstood the question. I think that she was overpowered and then shot. He probably thought the question was "Did he overpower the officer by shooting her".

The ultimate real-world
tragedy triumph of the fruits of modern feminism over
common sense oppressive male patriarchy has been on display in Atlanta today, for sure. And the
sickening happy results of such
silliness wisdom speaks for itself...
/sarcasm (obviously)
May those who fell due to this outrageous crime RIP. May the perpetrator who committed it be caught, tried, and executed. And may those whose fanatical ideology (partially) opened the door to it's inevitability spend sleepless nights reflecting on the human costs of their bug-eyed fanaticism.

Don't ask. He might take it as a dare.

I'm a critic, not a fan.
The Fulton County Courthouse has seen enough public hangings.
To: Jim Noble
It's still offensive, and you are an idiot to post something like that on this thread.

"This monster's been on the loose for 5 hours. I doubt he's anywhere near Atlanta at this point."I read (MSNBC) that the shooting took place at ~8 AM EST.
It's now ~3:30 PM EST.
That's over 7 hours and no word yet of his apprehension. Just imagine the damage Nichols could do in that period of time. Just imagine the spike in opportunistic crime while Atlanta's LEO resources (such as they are) are diverted in this manhunt.
According to the news account I read, the jury wasn't even in the courtroom when Nichols was about to be brought in there. But the judge still didn't want him to be in shackles or even a stun belt. That judge's idiocy, along with the atmosphere of political correctness, just cost 4 or 5 lives and may cost more before this is over. The even sadder part is that Atlanta will learn nothing from this.

the news continues to show pictures of where he used to live, or where he lives... if this guy is supposedly a UNIX administrator.. it means he has some semblance of a brain... the police are staked out at his home, and what not...i don't think this guy is as stupid as the police are making him out to be... so why would he return home? or even visit anyone who is remotely associated with him?
why don't they have plainclothes officers hanging out, what not...of course, I'm not a law enforcement officer, anyone care to shed some light?

I'm four hours from Atlanta in Dothan, Alabama. He could be eating in a resturant here and no one would have a clue. At noon, I had lunch with my husband and daughter - all four channels there were tuned to sports. I asked that they switch one tv to Fox, which they did. Jaws were dropping around the dining room - literally no one had a clue this was happening. Freepers are a unique and informed breed.

tacky, inappropriate, and irrelevant.

Not a quick end as in the Smith County Texas Court House shooting.

Stay safe, mh! I can't possibly read this whole thread, but I was a criminal court reporter. There were some pretty scary times.
Prayers are out to the judge, deputy sheriff, court reporter and bailiff.

I read (MSNBC) that the shooting took place at ~8 AM EST.It was around 9A ET. I drove through the Spring & Marietta Sts. intersection at about 3 'til 9. From what I understand, one of the carjackings was at that same intersection at about 4 or 5 AFTER 9.

"Nichols lived in a gated community."Kind of like Poe's Masque Of The Red Death, isn't it? All his neighbors were locked in with a violent maniac.
