The Cross was / is a war memorial donated to the city. The warriors who died and are remembered with the Cross had a motto:
God - Honor - Country
Too bad the city council members are atheists, or spineless, makes no real difference. The local Roger Hedgecock Radio Show has been trying to save the cross. It does not appear he is giving up yet. Even though we live in the county, we will be donating to the election campaign of those who oppose the atheists (those who are not in jail).
By the way, there are plenty of local hills with atheist statues on them (nothing).
I live out there for two years while in the Navy. I have been to it.
The lady holding scales in front of the courthouses throughout America, is a Greek goddess is she not? Isn't it time that citizens demand the legislative branch take back the power they are given by the Constitution, and defang the Judicial? Isn't the existence of the Judicial branch in its current form, taxation without representation? There is no way to influence their decisions, and they rule like a king.
Why can't the city just donate it back to the person who donated it (the land) to the city? Or his heirs? That would get the issue resolved fast, plus gain new tax revenues for the city.
