seems to me the politicos are just looking for a way to tax the savings of the boomers an second time. the paid tax when they earned the savings and now they will pay a tax when they spend it. sounds like double taxation.

Savings are already being taxed again when spent. That so many don't realize this is a tribute to the effectiveness of the efforts to keep the true cost of government hidden.

We must change the method of tax collection - the income tax and withholding hide the amount we all really pay to feed the gov't beast.

I respectfully disagree. The politicos are the last ones who want the Fair Tax. It comes from lots of ordinary people across the country, including those like I am who are boomers (and Sooners, too!). Cost of goods would be reduced so much under the Fair Tax (because embedded taxes would be stripped out by repeal) that it would be like buying goods with "before tax" dollars, and never having to pay income taxes, all rolled into one.
