"May He incite death against them, let them go down alive into the nether-world; for evil is in their dwelling, and within them."
Psalms 55:16 Masoretic text JPS 1917 This supports my contention that it is proper to pray for one's enemies' demise, if I am interpreting it correctly.

Correct, in that it is based on varying situations.
On one hand, the same David refused to pray for Absalom's death, and he begrudgingly sent his forces against him.
OTOH, Christ says to pray your enemies and do good to those that spitefully use you. Paul says to oversome evil with good, that you heap coals of fire upon their head (Paul was being positive).
But at the same time, two people died before Peter when they lied. And Peter told Simon Magus to take his simonry and go to hell, so to speak.
It's based on the circumstances. It's not situational ethics; it depends upon factors that are brought up in each case, sort of like a judge being stricter to the man that deficates in his courtroom and more lenient to the guy that controls his bowles.

My KJV Bible that I hold in my hand simply states that if I call upon God, the LORD shall save me (Ps. 55:16). Bible Gateway
confirms this. Which acknowledges what I've always belived. If you believe in the LORD, you will be saved.

Your contention that it is proper for a Christian to prey for the demise of their enemies has several problems, first and not least, it necessitates a judgement of what constitutes a deadly enemy. I don't believe that you are qualified to make this determination. Why don't you try just praying that God's will be done and leave it up to Him?

I will always pray for the enemies demise. I have seen of those feel good comments for klintoon and quoting the bible as to forgiving the wicked. I equate all feel good rantings to a movie titled,"Zulu." In which a delusional man of the cloth rants and raves about loving thy enemies and not taking arms against them. When a thousand british soldiers had been butchered earlier in the day by the same Zulus. Oh hell, can't we all just get along??? NSNR
