We must have different books... my Psalms 55:15 reads thus:

"We took sweet counsel together, in the house of God we walked with the throng."

You were reading verse 14. Verse 15 reads

"Let death seize them;
Let them go down alive into hell -- Sheol, the grave
For wickedness is in their dwellings
and among them" (nkjv)

OK that's similar to Psalms 55:16 in my reference. How does this imply in any way that I should hope for an enemy's success?

15 Let death take my enemies by surprise;

    let them go down alive to the grave, [a]

    for evil finds lodging among them.
