Any FReepers with cardio experience. How long do you have to be off blood thinners or beta blockers prior to this type of surgery...that could maybe explain the delay.

You have to be off of Coumadin for about 1 week, then check the pt levels...if normal, you are goood to go.

Additionally, we will give Aquamephyton (vit K) to reverse the effect by stimulating the liver to produce the clotting factors which have been "slowed" in developing and their effect. If one is on IV heparin, which Clinton is not, this can be stopped and within hours one can proceed to surgery, with a reversal drug. (sorry for the 2 posts)
