I am wondering if it's worse than they are making out. The doctor on Fox seemed very surprised at the length of his stay. Remember he stayed in the hospital a long time after the first operation. My guess would be....nobody wants to discharge an ex-POTUS too soon. They would most certainly error on the FAR side of caution here.
That being said....I think the average LOS...for CABG pt's these days is around 6 days...I don't remember how long Sick Slick was hospitalized....Do you?

My husband had a CABG in Sept. 2004 -- Thank God he's doing well now. I hope he doesn't hear about Clinton, though, as it will start him worrying again.

I think the average LOS
Length of stay is for insurance purposes...but if you are paying out of pocket, or better yet, having the Government pay out of pocket, LOS is when you want to go.
