No, let them keep talking! The more they talk, the more irrational they look.

Babies are a burden as well as a joy,for some not even a joy. Should the parents kill them because of the burden?

I agree with you totally.

Those who seek to reduce medical care, like the Hemlock Society are pushing for living wills, without any instruction or limitations.

They are very dangerous.

Yes, taking care of Terri at home may be more difficult than I think it will be, but it is what the Schindlers are willing to do if FL will allow them to do so.

He's not unaware of anything. He's just another scumbag male who defends other scumbag males.
And no, I don't think all males are scumbags.

Maybe sending Terri home with her parents is the answer to all this. Keep in mind that they already once put her back in hospice care because they couldn't take care of her.

According to Terri's parents and others, Terri is doing much better than most think. My sister-in-law was taken home to be taken care of by her parents. She was in worse shape than Terri is now.

I think it's very possible for Terri's parents to take care of her at home. :)

*****"Maybe sending Terri home with her parents is the answer to all this. Keep in mind that they already once put her back in hospice care because they couldn't take care of her."*****

Keep in mind, that most likely was HINO's decision and NOT Terri's parents. BTW, it was a nursing home back then, I think.

Terri was put in the Hospice in 2000, illegally.

Keep in mind that the Schindlers have already tried caring for Terri -- and they put her back in hospice care because it was too overwhelming a burden on the family.

Regardless of whose decision it was, the burden of care remains.

Terri was put into a nursing home at that point, not hospice. As this was the time frame that Michael was looking for a malpractice award, do you not think he had any say in the matter? As far as the Schindlers are concerned, Mr. Schindler has retired and spends his time keeping track of all the paperwork that has resulted from this. If Terri were brought home, I am guessing that his time would be devoted to taking care of Terri, and Mrs. Schindler would also help. They would take her out on errands and excursions. She doesn't need to be bound to a bed. A wheelchair will support her just fine for hours at a time. Then she would need to have her feeding tube taken care of. That's not hard. Many people have feeding tubes.

On top of the Terri's parents, there is Bobby and her sister, Suzanne. As well, there are dozens of people who are more than happy to help care for this special woman. You shouldn't be portraying Terri as a burden, yet you do. It is unnecessary. Terri is a blessing.

I'm not the one who portrayed her as a burden. And, again, regardless of who was the decision-maker back then it does not affect the obligations and burdens of care. Keep in mind that back then it was a family effort as well.

I would like to see the husband pay back all that money he took from Terri's account that was granted to her by a jury for her care and rehabilition. The money has not been used for any rehabilitation. It has been used to fight for Terri's death. The husband lied to the jury when he said he would take care of her until he died and that Terri was his life.

You mentioned Terri being a burden in your post, and you made it sound like the Schindlers thought she was one.

After 42 days she was put back into hospice care because the burden of caring for her was too great. That was 15 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Schindler must now be at least in their 60's. While I understand their desire, it is very likely they will soon find they are not able to care for her.

Perhaps you didn't mean to convey it, but the bolded words are why I thought you were portraying Terri as a burden. Other posters thought so too, because they mention it as well. Does it make sense to you now? I'm sorry if I misunderstood your post.

keep in mind, that both Terri and her husband was living with them. Her husband has pretty much called the shots.
