Why Not "Fat" Pride?? I think bigot and redneck pride would be better.

Some school children have been asked: if you've never tried homosexuality, how do you know you wouldn't like it? Have you ever tried eating dog sh!*?

Maybe because "We're Here, We're Fat, Get Used To It" doesn't have the same ring. The official motto of the Bigot and Redneck Alliance against Discrimination (BRAAD) is "We're here, we're intolerant, and we'll kick your a$$."
The discovery of the intolerance gene was made by Billy Bob Marsten and his son/brother Bubba Marsten and published in the "Journal of Stuff you Didn't Want to Know" after being peer reviewed by the entire population of Wabash County, Arkansas so we know it's genetic. Intolerant people everywhere are encouraged to stand up for their rights.
Shalom.

"We're here and we're queer!"
"Oh yeah? ... We're fat and that's where it's at!"
"Well, oh my! I'm out of the closet."
"Oh yeah? I'm out of the hanger!"
"Well, well ... you don't have aids."
"Who needs em? I eat my whoppers on my own."

My sister suffered from obesity her entire life. Must have been her metabolism, because most in our family are of normal weight. She wasn't an over-eater, at any given time I could eat her under the table.
She finally opted to have gastric-bypass surgery, and has suffered some complications. She's doing well now, but not without paying a price.
She has said for years that obesity is the last acceptable prejudice. The stares, the jokes...it took a toll on her.
Sad to know that homosexuality is more accepted these days then those with a weight problem.

Speaking as a happy (and happily married) size 14, can we all agree that "fat" is not the same as "non anorexic"?

I'm for fat pride. I'm very serious. I was never morbidly obese, but maybe a size 14-16 and believe me when I read 'Invisible Man' I knew what it felt it for people (especially men) to act as if I wasn't there.

I must get that Journal....do they sell it on Amazon? Most of the people in Wabash County have never been to the Amazon but they liked the way J Lo shook her stuff in "Anaconda."
Anyway, there was a copy over at the drugstore, but I checked after work today and it was gone. I'm not sure anyone actually reads it, but the Millers needed something for their outhouse.
Shalom.

Tomorrow I'll try to remember to ping you to the Official Friday Silliness Thread. It's not BRAAD, but it's OK.

Love your tagline!! Thanks. I will probably update it to be slightly more offensive but no less direct in another week or so.

How are ya???? 'Bout the same. Intolerant as ever. Great to see you and Stix again. Wish I had saved the entire ping list. BRAAD is good.
It was exciting to read my old approach in the article - even if they used fatties instead of rednecks.
How have you been? Shalom.

That being said, I think it is entirely fair game to raise the legitimate health hazards of any practice... If only all freepers felt the same way... because to some, it's hateful to list the severe health hazards of the homosexual lifestyle.

(Tens of thousands have left the homosexual lifestyle)
To: scripter
If only all freepers felt the same way... because to some, it's hateful to list the severe health hazards of the homosexual lifestyle. Scripter, you know I love you, man, but the issue isn't that homosexual behavior is hazardous to your health. Around here driving in 2 inches of snow is hazardous to your health but we all do it and it's perfectly acceptable.
The problem with homosexual behavior is that it's sick and people who engage in it have twisted minds. Their efforts to teach us that human beings should do what they do makes as much sense as teaching us that human beings should suck up their urine and spit it at people like the chimpanzees do at the zoo.
Even if there were no health hazards it would still need stopping.
But I know you know that. Sometimes I get tired of pretending that the biggest problem with homosexual behavior isn't that only sickos would want to engage in it.
Shalom.
