I don't think I've heard the song but for some reason it reminds me of Rita Rudner's stand-up routine.

I think Dusty Springfield was the artist and the year was about 1966. It's classic lyrics are probably available online. Fortunately, such greeting-card-worthy poetry has been made eternally available by virture of the net!
