Elton almost got married when he was pretty young (I think he married in the 80's briefly but it became known it was a sham marriage)...the song "Someone Saved My Live Tonight" refers to the fiance of younger days.
Off topic, but I was tickled to hear Elton's "Friends" as bumper music on Hugh Hewitt's show yesterday.
Trivia question: Do you know who the "someone" of the song is? His only hit in the U.S. was one of the best rock songs ever -- "Don't Try to Lay No Boogie-Woogie on the King of Rock and Roll." Fantastic song. From about 1970.
