But everyone on here who hasn't seen the film assures me that it is a pro-death propaganda piece. They have to know more about it than the man who made it right?
O'REILLY: Am I brilliant or what?
no.
Geez, it's only a movie.
Hollywood is so liberal that it's easy to forget that sometimes people in Hollywood may present both sides of the story in the movie or may not have a liberal goal with the story. I'm much more bothered by a movie like Vera Drake where the creators and cast talk about what a hero the character was and don't seem to even entertain the notion of a different view.
bump.
Clint, where were you a week ago when I was trying to tell this to people who hadn't seen the movie? :)
Definitely will rent MDB when its a DVD.
On the other hand even tho Eastwood did Mystic River I'll never watch it because the thought of Penn and Robbins on my 56" HDTV screen near makes me vomit.
But I'll watch anything with Morgan Freeman and MDB seems to have too much going for it to miss.
More interesting is who is doing the magnifying. I get tired of the MSM deciding what the 'conservative' position is. Including O'Reilly.
Aren't they all gay?
Clint: ..."in the old days, it was everybody was talking about the knee- jerk liberals. Now we have sort of the knee-jerk conservative group that has tries to politicize everything."
Thanks Clint. Somebody had to say it.
My point here is, I think that many on the right, where I squarely reside, are making an issue out of something that isn't there. Mr. Eastwood was clear about his intent with the picture. We need to choose our battles more wisely. That's my opinion. Flame away if you like, FReepers. Cite scripture and all the rest. But I don't think this film is evil or even wrong. Simply a story about flawed human beings. And, it is a terrificly done film.
