I am with you. My dad was an over the road truck driver for 26 years and hated every day after 21 years, but he reported to work ever week and I never remember him missing a day. Now, did the fact he didn't like his job take years off of his life due to stress, maybe, but I personally don't look for happiness at work (I like my job, but I have never excpected my job to bring my happiness) I have always looked towards my family and religion for that

Mama said there'd be days like that, and I have them, too -- where you just sorta grind it out. Hmmmm. Maybe that's why some people call it a grind. Me? I find MOST days are entirely enjoyable, because I get to try to enthuse 10th-graders and turn them on to the flow of civilized discourse. So, in the great scheme of things, maybe I'm one of the lucky ones who found a groove. But on those grind-it-out days, I just think of it as bread-and-butter.
A time or two, I've asked myself, "Is there anything better for me?" The answer is always, "Naaaaaaah".
