McCain Touts Jeb for 2008
NewsMax ^ | 2/28/05 | AP

The first name that popped out of U.S. Sen. John McCain's mouth Sunday as the Republican choice for president in 2008 was Jeb Bush, but the governor's spokesman repeated his position that he has no plans to run.

"If you're looking at dynasties, and by the way I'm a great admirer of Governor Bush, he's done a great job in Florida," the Arizona senator said on "Fox News Sunday." But he added, "This might be a wide-open situation."

In response to McCain's remarks, Bush spokesman Jacob DiPietre said: "The governor is focused on his job right now. He's got an ambitious agenda for his remaining time in office and has said repeatedly that he has no intentions of running" for president in 2008.

Think about this:

Dan Quayle vs. Hillary Clinton.

Who do the idiot undecided/moderates break for?

Yikes.

Some things are nonnegotiable. Any public official who supports and aids and abets the subversion of law is not fit for public office, and can in no way be considered a conservative. Hence--Jeb is a RINO!

Not that the following is attributal but .....

Rice characterizes herself as an "all-over-the-map Republican," whose views are "hard to typecast": "very conservative" in foreign policy, "ultra-conservative" in other areas, "almost shockingly libertarian" on some issues, "moderate" on others, "liberal" on probably nothing. (She calls herself "mildly pro-choice" on abortion.)

He needs a LOT of rehabilitation.

But I do like him. And I love her.

Well, if she means the three exceptions, I don't see what the problem is, if that's what she said.

No, I do not. If you think differently, you're living on a different planet.

Dan Quayle couldn't rehabilitate his image without a magic lamp.

Those parents are saints! I admire them so much for what they are doing for their daughter. Which reminds me, I need to donate.

George Bush won the nomination becasue he was the best man;

He was the best man out of a controlled group of candidates. He was pushed into the forefront by the media, thinking he would be easily defeated by Gore.

My guess is that's where she most likely would fall..... However I really don't think she'll run but stranger things have happened. By that I mean have a change of heart/direction since she's maintained all along that isn't her desire. Likewise I don't think Hillary will be the nominee although I think she'd like to but I don't see her opting to take the pounding/scrutiny it takes to run that race. jmo

Let me ask ... isnt this the same McCAIN that said hillary would make a great president? You think on that long flight back from the middle east Hillary asked McCain to talk up a weak candidate?? .....

He also believes in race based quotas/affirmative action.

Then why did he oppose every affirmative action law on the books and institute the "One Florida" program in its place? Do your homework.

I think the plan is McCain for one term with Jeb as VP and then Jeb for two terms after.

While I'd like to see Jeb as POTUS, I'm not sure the country would survive a McCain term.

Well, it turns out the press was as dumb as you appear to be with regard to what happened in 2000, doesn't it?
