Edwards was nearly unrelenting in his criticism of Bush, calling his plan to reform Social Security "a disaster."
"It undermines and weakens one of the greatest anti-poverty plans in U.S. history," he said. A better alternative, he said, would be to roll back tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans and use the money to shore up the retirement program.
He has to rev up visceral Dim Bush haters---the ones he's counting on to become a viable primary candidate.
