Some people just love movies. I love reading...does that mean I should stop because there are many liberal writers? Can't Art be above politics?
True, I think art should be above politics...but is it? Go ahead and enjoy your books and movies, and practice discretion when your favorite author/movie actor/musician speaks out on politics (which they do alot). I think what rubs people the wrong way is that the Oscars thread could be construed as uplifting/supporting the people who are working so very hard to undermine President Bush and our Conservative values. Personally, I find it somewhat difficult to not support leftist/socialist/communist authors/actors/directors...because it severely limits my selections...just a few weeks back I read a quote from Stephen King that was anti President Bush...so do I not buy any of his books now? Oh well, I too will continue to read and see movies, and hope the actors/authors/musicians just "Shut-up and act/write/sing!".
