Well, if they didn't send him to Washington he'd probably be something like governor. Therefore, from their point of view, it's a good deal.
He can screw things up in Washington, but the pain is spread out over the whole country, not just in Iowa.
How's that for a theory?
I always thought of Iowegians as salt of the earth types. They did go for Bush in '04, so there is still hope.
