I stopped watching MSM networks years ago. I'd say that is true 90% true most of the time anyway, what with DirecTV's offerings. Just boycott all of them all the time...

What's this "television" you speak of?

Put it this way, in the last twelve months, my free-time spent watching television has gone from 75% probably down to 5%. I got rid of the cable and turned the TV off completely last Lent. Nowadays I watch the local news for the weather report and that's about it. I can't stomach much else.

are you kidding? Catholics don't get mad, they tolerate.

the holy sees will try to understand those who disagree with them, then bend to conform

This show is desperate to survive. NBC has a lot invested in it. An article anout it in the Sunday NYTs stated that the writers have been instructed to go outside the box to make it work. It is not funny or creative. It will be gone soon.

I am so glad we have been without cable for the past 4 years. I miss ESPN, but my family has been spared so much trash. There is so little on TV worth watching.

Un-Plug the networks!

I would bet any amount of money that no television network would feature some takeoff on a Muslim religious ceremony. They lack the guts.

Some time ago, I understand that the BBC aired a program that made fun of Jesus. There was little reaction among the Brits, but on the other hand, the producers got death threats from Muslims, who revere Jesus as one of the Prophets. I imagine that they didn't do that again.

During the February 22 episode of the NBC-TV sitcom, “Committed,” two non-Catholics are mistakenly given Holy Communion at a Catholic funeral Mass. Nate, who is Jewish, and Bowie, a Protestant, don’t know what to do with the Eucharist, so they make several failed attempts to get rid of it. For example, they try slipping it into the pocket of a priest, dropping it on a tray of cheese and crackers, etc.

That's not funny at all. Most non-catholics know they are just not supposed to go up and receive. Address, please, I'd like to give them a please on my Catholic mind.

To: NewsMax & Catholic League, thank for your articles with keeping us informed about anti-Catholic media events, etc.

Please, when you do a press release and want activism, do some research and homework and INCLUDE contact information in your press releases.

I see nothing in your news releases regarding how we can contact NBC or the advertisers to the television show.

When you rush to be first and don't include the contact information, your work is futile.

I refrain from writing anything until alerts contain contact information.

Thank you.

We call on all who love Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist to speak out today in defense of this Most Sacred part of the Catholic faith.

NBC Show Insults the Holy Eucharist:
Apology Demanded

According to the Catholic League, on February 22, NBC aired an unspeakably blasphemous episode of the sitcom "Committed," in which two non-Catholics accidentally receive the Holy Eucharist at a funeral Mass. Uncertain of what to do, they attempt to slip it into a priests pocket and even placing the Host on a tray of cheese and crackers.

A priest, apparently unable to tell the difference between the Blessed Sacrament and a cracker, is unwilling to eat it, since it is the last one on the tray. Finally, he calls out, "What the hell!" and eats it.

In one particularly offensive scene, they accidentally flush what they think is the Sacred Host down the toilet.

Many Catholics feel that this episode makes a mockery of what Catholics hold sacred and have already raised their voices in protest. America Needs Fatima Director Robert Ritchie stated: "In my opinion, NBC has aired a direct attack on the Catholic Church by mocking and degrading the Sacred Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. You and I must demand an official and unqualified apology from NBC for this most offensive show."

And this is exactly what the TFP web site intends to do. It is calling on all who love Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist to speak out today in defense of this Most Sacred part of the Catholic faith.

However, just speaking out is not enough. Reparation must also be made to Our Lord, since He was the target of the show's mockery. Thus, the TFP web site is also asking faithful Catholics to pledge one hour of adoration before the Blessed Sacrament in reparation for this blasphemy.

Turn your holy anger into effective action right now. Demand an apology from NBC and pledge an hour of adoration in reparation for this blasphemy. Do it now.

Turning the other cheek does not include being indifferent to such a blatant attack on God in the Holy Eucharist.

Be a part of this campaign today!
Here is what you can do!

1. Send an instant protest email.
2. To protest NBC on the phone at 1-800-884-2212.
3. Pledge one hour of meditation before the Blessed Sacrament in reparation for this blasphemy.
4. Email this page to all your friends.
5. Make a financial contribution to the American TFP, to aid its efforts in defense of Holy Mother Church.
6. Join our new interactive discussion board on this topic by clicking here.
