I didn't personally know him, like you did. But when you said

"Dix, you ole sumbitch, I am gonna miss you like I don't even know what. All I ask is that you keep an eye on us from up there, 'cause you know how bad we need the supervision."

I'm sure he had a great sense of humor. He must be smiling now...with his friends. May he rest (and smile along) in eternal peace. (Thanks to others for the ping.)

Dix's sense of humor was up there with 'Gunner's and Laz's, to whom sad courtesy ping.

He was the kind of man with whom I'd trust my car, my dog, my house, my gun, and my kids if I had any. (But not my beer.)

Watching him light up the liberals was just poetry. He was a quick thinker and a smooth talker. (That's why he always had so many of us pretty girls around him in all the pictures.)
