servicemen who were stationed in Europe in the 1990s are also banned from giving blood. Is that discrimination as well?
I think that if he knew servicemen are banned he would drop his opposition to the policy because he wouldn't want to be on the same side as the military. Just my opinion.

Anyone who has lived in Africa or who has had sexual relations with someone who has lived in Africa is also barred from donating blood. Apparently there are STD's in Africa for which there are not good screening tests for their blood.
