My disabilities are more spiritual in nature than any physical ones I may have. However, I have recovered from serious injury and was disabled for a time, though it was due to an accident and not a disease. Therapy and time were two important things I needed, as well as the love and encouragement of my family and friends.

However, you didn't answer my question. I asked whether or not you think people who are disabled have dignity. I think they do have dignity. I do not understand your earlier comment about living with dignity. You made it sound like Terri doesn't have dignity because she is disabled.

I don't want to square-dance about the issue but it's hard to quantify an intangible. In one sense of the word, all humans have dignity by virtue of their creation by a loving God. Some of the greatest of displays of dignity occur when man is in the most undignified or humliating of situations.
Maybe my attitude about the subject is based upon the belief that there are things more important than life. Freedom, self-respect being a start.
