I haven't seen anything quite this OPENLY done before tho Annie. Got to get back to work here. grrrrrrrrrrr
Bump for Terri.
God will let His will be known.
Yes, He has, and for 15 years He has decided that Terri should live.
Read my tagline and substitute Michael Schiavo with your name.
Then I ask again, how can Terri be subject to a law that was IPSO FACTO to the date of her injury? Has anyone asked the powers that be that question?
I know the answer: you are thinking in terms of criminal law and protections. Terri's case is CIVIL. George W. "Haman" Greer is a "civil" court judge. He does not handle criminal cases. In Terri's case, he has made the word "civil" synonymous with criminal in regard to his own behavior.
The law applies to people in her condition. It doesn't have anything to do with when she suffered the injury. An analogy would be any tax increase legislation. You can't argue successfully that it doesn't apply to you now because it didn't apply earlier.
Frankly, I can't understand why the Catholic Church would even give "consideration" to marrying this man after what he's done and been doing.
Schiavo is nominally "Lutheran" too. But maybe the church would defer to Jodi's wishes.
If God wanted to take Terri, do you think any mortal would be able to stop him?
You complain that the people who are trying to keep Terri from being brutally dehydrated are treating her as a 'political football'. What would you suggest that people who don't believe Terri wants to be starved to death should do?
Also, from what I can tell, Terri loved her parents. Is it plausible that this woman's will to die is so strong that she'd rather be put to death in a way that will make her parents miserable than be allowed to live with her parents and provide them some joy and comfort? I cannot imagine any woman wanting her husband, claiming to act on her behalf, to fight so viciously to have her fatally dehydrated.
A question, from one who hasn't followed ther details of this case too closely....was the husband ever asked to relinquish his right to exercise the medical proxy, return it to her parents....and if so, what was his rationale for refusing..
I have been to the official web-site just now, it is offline because of being overloaded. Perhaps the more the word gets out, the more outrage there will be and there will be victory for Terri and her family.
I guess he changed his mind!
He has been asked. He's refused because his parents have put him through Hell, etc. After his lawyer talked to him and he was asked again, he stated he also refused because his parents might not follow Terri's wishes.
"His" parents, or "hers?"..I'm confused..sorry..
Okay, guys, I think you've done it.
The Lord say "Ask, and ye shall receive..."
You have spread the LIGHT on Terri's plight - even to finally getting the MSM to report on it truthfully =- The spotlight is on the judge - he knows the world is watching. That will affect his decision - and he will, I believe, make the right one - maybe not out of conviction - but because LIGHT trumps DARK every time.
Darkness (evil) has NO power. It can exist only in the absence of LIGHT. LIGHT has many sources - turn it on and DARK (evil) must recede.
Keep this in mind. The LIGHT is on and it is not going to go out...
I think you have done it!
Typo. Hers.
>>Separate her from the mechanical means which keep her alive, God will let His will be known.<<
That argument is ridiculous. Your reasoning is sound here grassboots. My analogy is this... Terri cannot feed herself. However, the nourishment she recieves sustains her life. An infant cannot feed itself, the nourishment that we provide them as their gaurdians, sustains them. We would be murderers if we let an infant starve and would be murderers to let Terri starve.
Thanks for saying that. I was seeing "redrats" when I read that. You said what I wanted to In a very dignified way!
