NEW YORK (Billboard) - Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch has parted ways with the hard rock act, citing a recent religious awakening.
Welch broke the news Sunday on Bakersfield, Calif., station KRAB-FM.
"I had it in my heart to come here and explain to you," Welch said. "I'm good friends with Korn. I love those guys, and they love me, and they're very happy for me."
Addressing the aggressive tone of the music he made with Korn, Welch said, "Anger is a good thing, and if kids want to listen to Korn, good, but there's happiness after the anger. I'm going to show it through my actions how much I love my fans."
Welch added that he would be appearing at a local church on Feb. 27, during which time he would "speak (about) how I got to this place in my life, and I'll answer all your questions."
On its official Web site (http://www.korn.com), Korn's remaining members said they respect Welch's wishes and hope "he finds the happiness he is searching for." The group is in the studio working on a new album, due in September, which will be its first since fulfilling its contract with Epic last year.
For now, no replacement for Welch has been named, nor has a new label home for the band.
hehehehahahah
yeah but mine took longer to Photoshop! hahaha
ya got mad skillz, t.

Thanks GloriaJane, will do !
PAX
mad skillz? hahahaha
LOL!
I can see Cookie Monster doing Death Metal lead vocals..
Took a semester and a half of ebonics...
I don't understand why. Bride's music IMO is great. Reminds me of the bible passage about a prophet is welcome everywhere but his home. I hope they start getting main stream coverage. The Music scene could really use them. All in all I guess if they were really big here those other places might be missing out on a chance to come to know Jesus through their music ministry.
Hey they are good. I loved their sound the first time I heard them.
Man you are really on top of this stuff. Thanks for the information. I will try and find these guys. Do you have any favorites out of the current crop of Christian Rock? I have been listening to Pillar and they have a fresh sound.
Well, "Christian Band" seems to categorize it. Why can't it be a band that happens to be Christian and sometimes sings Christian songs? Does Mel Gibson have "Christian Actor" next to his name on IMDB where all the other actors have "Actor"?
No, but Mel also wouldnt run away from that categorization like Stapp did, either. Big difference. Its one thing to say "Im Christian, im a singer...classify me however you want" but an entirely different thing to say "IM NOT A CHRISTIAN BAND....ARGH!!!" like Scott did.
He was obviously not ashamed of being Christian, or he wouldn't have sung songs about God. He just didn't want the LABEL that categorizes them into one genre.
Well, maybe you can help me with my dilemma. I am drawn to metal because I like classical music. I love the hard, hard stuff EXCEPT for the vocals. I have to have some sort of tunefulness in the vocals, not just monster screams. Pantera is as heavy in the vocals as I get.
I am looking for some hard music with softer vocals, or no vocals at all. Can you recommend anything for me?
The only band that comes to mind is Stratavarius (sp?) but I can't say that their music is maximum shreddage...
I agree with the disappear unless as a master guitarist he wants to play the guitar someplace.
Same way I'd let a new Christian who was a master mechanic work on the church bus.
