Catholics can be cremated. No rule against it that I know of.

Yes, but according to an FAQ I read on the subject, an uncremated body must be present at the funeral.

I attended the funeral of one of our parishoners recently and his body had already been cremated. I'm not sure of the protocal as I'm fairly new to this. (converted 3 years ago)
