At this point, Michael Schiavo has staked too much on "allowing Terri to die" to give up and let her parents take care of her. Schiavo's an evil man, supported by evil people who love death and darkness and know that Terri's death would be a perverse triumph: the first time the US (officially, openly, legally) starves and dehydrates someone to death because she is disabled. Even aside from the lawsuits I'm sure Michael Schiavo will file; even aside from the book and movie deals he'll make; Schiavo will gain if Terri dies because he will be treated like a martyr/rock star by many powerful people. (Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are just two mega-rich Americans who give prodigious sums to pro-abortion causes, which should tell you where the hearts of many of this country's most powerful people lie.) Terri is vulnerable and (in her present state) innocent, and vulnerability and innocence are affronts to many of the "Beautiful People". That is one reason Michael Schiavo will not back down (unless he can do so and claim victim status at the same time): he has been seduced (perhaps willingly) by fame and money and "beauty". I (sincerely) pity Michael Schiavo on Judgment Day, when none of the "friends" who surround him today will be able to buy his way out of eternal trouble.

I dont pity him. We reap what we sow and he deserves to burn for murdering his wife.
