Crazy for this area.

Yup, and it's also worth recalling the freak tornado that touched down in the L.A. suburbs just a couple months ago.

I remember last spring there were a couple twisters that touched ground north of Sacramento. Very light twisters though..very little damage.

Too bad Barbara Boxer isn't in town. ;o)

This is north of Sac, Lodi is about an hour south of us. We're now clear but a nasty line of t-storms is south of us.

We had three twisters touch down this weekend in Fallbrook (north San Diego county). We also had a direct lightning strike on the school building I was in last Friday (voltmeters slammed against the top end of the dial, believe me.) Most people in SoCal do OK with earthquakes, but this "Midwest" weather we've been having is frankly a bit disconcerting.

This is such a wacky winter,Here in Seattle we should be knee deep in rain. We won't see any real rain for about 9 days. We have sunny skies and a Hi in the mid-50's. It's been that way for a week already. Just Amazing!

An interesting climactic factoid: On years that record high or record temperatures (and 2004 was such a year) you will almost invariably have an El Nino the following winter. El Nino lowers the jet stream that would normally carry the precipitation through the NW and drops it down into SoCal.

That's amazing. I was stationed at Fort Lewis from 75-77 and hardly knew what that bright thing in the sky was all about, we saw it so seldom. Got to see Rainer a few times, though.

Normal for NE Mississippi to have weather like that. Last year we got an earthquake that registered 4.7 on the Richter scale that shook the house up nicely. It is nice of God to share the quakes and tornadoes to all. Have fun!
