You must attend a beauty school then...the guys in your class probably aren't interested in wives though... ROFL!! I am a college student AND I am already married. There are a number of us out there. Think I'm looking to marry "up"? Yeah, all those boozed out frat boys with college loans as far as the eye can see really make me hot!

It's short sighted of me to think that it is beyond asinine for a woman/girl to shell out money (or more likely have her daddy do it) for a four year college education that she is only bothering with so she can find some guy to take care of her? You find this worthy of praise, how?

ROTFL. You're an idiot. You seriously think women seek higher education to find a man? What are you, 12?No he's not, 90% of the people go to school to have fun (this is freely admitted by many college students). This is pure fact of both guys and girls. His comment is somewhat appropriate as the two are related.

Individual men and women have varying degrees of intelligence, wide ranging interests, different dreams and obstacles, and deserve the freedom to develop their own gifts and expertise.

I visited Moscow a few years ago and would say that the relative power of men and women in relationships is dominated by the fact that there are only a few worthwhile men around. The majority of them, according to the women I met, were drunks, or financially incapable who didn't want to marry anyone or father children whom they would be willing to support.
That kind of matches the pathology of America's inner cities. Lots of willing, attractive women: Lots of not-so-hot men.

What a waste of 90 thousand dollars. Well, I think it'd be okay as long as they're wasting their own money, or their parents', rather than the taxpayers'. :-)

I agree that men are generally better at science/math but that does not mean that some women aren't just as good at science/math Are we talking BELL CURVES? Overlapping bell curves? Yup...

that explains a lot...so you are better at the language side of things...a BA.
I have the BS, passed the organic chem. (and inorganic too--fyi: those are both sciences). Gross Anatomy..check, physiology..check, neuroanatomy..check, neurophysiology...check, physics..check, mathematics..check
hmmmm...interesting, considering that I am the woman and you are the man yet you have the BA and I have the BS....just not possible!

JMO, but I've always considered a BS of greater value than a BA, regardless of the sex of the person who received it.

Actually, there have been a fair number, but they tend to work differently than men. I grew up in Oswego NY, where Waneta Hoyt killed 5 of her 6 children and managed to disguise it as sudden infant death syndrome for 20 years.
Male serial killers tend to be more obvious. Women serial killers tend to try to disguise their acts as accidents, illness, etc. Actually, I think that tends to be true of male vs. female murders overall,
I found this page on female serial murderers, while looking up info on Waneta Hoyt.

"He said girls may have less of an aptitude for maths etc. than boys"I don't think that's quite what Larry Summers said. (Let's go back and review the actual transcript http://www.thecrimson.com/today/article505844.html )
While men are overrepresented in the rarefied area of 750+ Math SAT geekdom, they are ALSO overrepresented in the SAT takers who get all of the questions wrong!
It has to do with having one X and one Y chromosome instead of having two X chromosomes. In any of case, there are plenty of women who have plenty of brains to get into plenty of trouble in math and science. Perhaps the "elite" colleges and universities (like Harvard) need to review the criteria that they use to recruit and promote faculty.

Deborah Blum is a Pulitzer Prize-winning science writer...
Deborah Blum is a journalism prof at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and has worked for many of the usual suspects.
Walter Durante was a Pulitzer Prize-winning NYT writer who got the prize for lying about Stalin's starvation of millions of Ukranians.
