Mental disorders suck, but you shouldn't be looking for someone else to blame.

"Our home is like a funeral parlor," Renea Young said. "They've robbed us of our laughter. My spirit, my soul, is damaged."

TS. I'll bet if she had been able to hose the girls' parents for tens of thousands of dollars for "pain and suffering" she'd be singing a different tune.

From what I have heard, with what those kids did, if they had tried that around here they would have been dead late at night isolated house, no car in the driveway, sick mother (two women by themselves). Ringing door bell and disappearing, sounds like a solid case of trespassing and harassment.

Solid self defense issues.

May the kids get what they deserve in the next life.

Young said she was bothered by that request and the lack of trust she believed it signaled."

Well, she sure proved them wrong to mistrust her... /s

Advice to any future judge or insurance company claim: "My spirit, my soul, is damaged" constitutes a pre-existing condition.

Oh man, what classic victim mentality. This cracked broad's soul was damaged a long time before the cookie episode, it sounds. What a nut job.

It's Bush's fault, obviously.

Self-defense? They KNOCKED ON THE DOOR. If someone was truly trying to cause harm, do you think they'd knock on the door first?

Was it really necessary to excerpt such a tiny piece of the story? I had no clue as to the gist of the story until I waited several minutes for the source URL to load....

Yet, she says she'd do it again, that going to court was the right thing to do. Ya know, if there's one thing I've learned in life, it's that sometimes walking away and letting something go is the best course of action.

Indeed. This is a clear example of the First Rule of Holes: when you are in one, stop digging.

The cookies didn't turn their lives upside down.

Their teeny, tiny, itsy, bitsy, mean ole hearts turned their lives upside down.

I think so too. She could have signed the waiver, gotten her money. But NO!! She 'could not compromise her principals.' Which were ...? I think she is reaping what she sowed, too.

I'm glad they didn't leave cookies on your doorstep, you'd have probably shot them, or set some pit bulls on them.

Refusing to sign a waiver once the $900 was paid?!? These folks pretty much deserve what they have reaped.

That's my take on it too. It's amazing to me that despite all the problems that have occurred over this, she still doesn't see where she could have done anything but sue. This attitude where it's felt we have to sue over everyting is truly not good for society. Thanks a bunch trial lawyers.

This woman is a professional victim. One of my wifes real estate clients was like this. She was in her early forties and when my wife showed her homes, she practically had to help her out of the car. All she did was complain about all the bad things in her life. When she finally found a condo, within two months she was suing everyone who touched the deal and the condo because it had a "mold problem." Never mind that nobody had complained before.

It was doubly irritating because my wife and I were both 50 and had to help a "young spry" around like an old lady. My wife learned to avoid potential clients with the "woe is me" attitude. They are dangerous, as was this "old" woman.

At least in this case the chickens are coming home to roost. Of course, ultimately, that is ALWAYS what happens.
