I agree. Yesterday I had to explain to someone here on FR why the term "faggot" is offensive to so many people, even to those of us who oppose gay marriage, and object to it on moral and/or religious grounds. Why does something like that even have to be explained?

Perhaps someone should ask Hannity to point to something specific, and let us have a look at it. Perhaps a community based voting system could be implemented, eg. people vote on certain messages and once it goes over a limit it automatically drops off until an admin can review it.

You're right. The non-stop gay bashing is getting revolting. Sometimes I hope people don't point to this place as an example of what political conservatives are like.

Your suggestion for some way to vote on comments reminds me of amazon.com's system where people vote on whether a particular review was helpful or not. It's a way, at least, to register your opinion that what the person said was inappropriate or out-of-line.

But I really don't think anything like that is necessary here (though it would be interesting to be able to click a "zot" button and when it reached a certain number, the comment got drop-kicked into oblivion)---lol.

Sean is going to find out with his darling little forum that robust discussion is just that: it ain't always pretty. The mods can moderate it but that's all they do: moderate, not control it.

And we can't live with that, why, Sean?
