That's what was most ridiculous about the MSM claim during Rathergate that the Freepers and bloggers in pajamas don't have fact-checkers or editors; on the contrary, we have tons of fact-checking that is done almost instantaneously, and by parties far more rigorous and less biased than the MSM types.

Yup, a lot of us have degrees or areas of expertise that are really outstanding. For example, I have some depth expertise on Yucca Mountain, Nevada politics, and thermodynamics. Each are a small niche, but you combine that with submariners evaluating the San Francisco, marines on site in Iraq, pilots, engineers, insider politicians, computer geeks, etc. etc. etc. (not to omit moms at home who know more than Hillary), calling us fringe is more than a bit bizarre. We grind out collectively some pretty impressive results.
