says he hasn't signed on in two years....yeah right.

Then, how does he know we've been taken over by the fringe?

Most these days are mainstream Republicans. It used to be more Libertarian elements, more radical religious elements, and even some anarchy elements. There is not as much of that these days.

Ahhhh, I kind of miss the good old days with the free-for-all food fights and such ;-)

"Listen to Michael Medved instead, at the same time - your brain will actually grow if you do that."

I second that! I try to listen to all three hours every day...Medved is on at the same time as Hannity, and I really do NOT care for Sean any more. Great news...Michael Medved is coming to Amarillo in March. Can't wait.

Thanks fer the link...Sean's floundering trying to make a case to join his "Messenger Service" in place of FR.com...he's used the same catch phrases (i.e. "eating their own") previously. This was just a clumsy attempt at marketing his own Forum...ho hum!!

Sorry, but I just have to laugh. Oh, the big, salty tears that stream down Freeper faces every time a Rush Limbaugh or a Sean Hannity or some other hairsprayed, chuckleheaded media idol gets busted for buying dope from his housekeeper or admits his disatste for you and your kind, or is otherwise revealed to have feet of clay! Boo hoo hoo! Say it ain't so, Joe!

I'll explain it to all of you in simple terms, folks: radio talk-show hosts and other media personalities are actors. They are faking it. It's all schtick. They are not people "just like you and me" -- conservative working people who live in the world of paychecks and payments. They are entertainers -- people who make a lot of money for delivering audiences to sponsors. They are neither politicians nor true believers, and the only reason they seem to be "conservative" on the air is that most of the people who have the free time needed to listen to talk radio are middle-aged or older white men who tend to be cranks -- oops, I mean strongly opinionated in the rightward direction.

(Don't believe me? Check out the stuff advertised on talk radio: stay-hard cream, hair-loss tonic, weight-loss pills, dating-for-divorcees companies, and BUY GOLD GOLD GOLD FOR THE COMING WORLD COLLAPSE NOW! If pot-smoking black teenagers were the biggest talk radio audience out there you can bet your bottom dollar that you'd be listening to the liberal Pimp-Daddy Limbaugh show and the hash-huffing Street Dawgg Hannity program. Advertisers buy time on shows to which their potential customers listen.)

To reiterate: talk radio is all showbiz, folks, no more real than pro wrestling, so please stop being surprised each time one of your talk-show heroes is unmasked as a druggie or a Beltway suckup or Just Another Media Whore. Anyone who ever believed that Rush or Hannity (or Savage, or Hewitt, or you-name-it) is "in touch with the mainstream" of American life is fooling themselves. These are people who go to the Super Bowl every year, belong to Burning Tree, own yachts, know Senators, and never drive any car over a year old. They are not bad people, but they are people playing a role for money, and the sooner you talk radio fans realize that you don't get paid the big bucks for being yourself or telling the truth on radio and/or TV - you get paid for being able to post big ratings numbers so your network can charge maximum price to the makers of new StayHardPlus with Ejacu-Gard and Slim 'n' Fuzzy Weight-Loss/Hair Growth Tonic, the sooner the day will come when the tears stop flowing.

tx4guns proved Sean's position.... IMO anyone who prefers Savage over Hannity is on the lunatic fringe. I've found a few FReepers to be vvvvveeeerrrrryyyy fringe-y as well.

But why do you take it as an insult? Being on the fringe is the antithesis of being in the mainstream.... I thought this IS the fringe (not necessarily lunatic), that FR is not the mainstream.

I haven't listen to BOR in a long time. I like Sean. He's okay. Some freepers will take what he says personally. He doesn't have to participate in this forum if he doesn't want to.

it just may well be........but I do agree with him on one small front.........many here start calling everyone a RINO or traitor just because they disagree on one issue and I've been attacked and called all sorts of things for being from California and sticking up for my state, not the politics, but the state as a whole....some act just like DUmmies here and it gives us a bad name........

Just a gentle reminder to check the rules regarding mentioning Saint Ann.

...a majority of scientists accept its validity. The debate now was whether it is natural or manmade.

I don't think anybody ever disputed that the global temperature changes over time. What is in dispute is indeed the cause. But those who speak of global warming almost uniformly declare human activity to be the major cause, and the evidence to support that simply doesn't exist.

There are plenty of accounts in the scientific literature of temperature variations, CO2 levels, abnormal animal movements, and so forth. Studies come from a spectrum of scientific disciplines. All these reports are difficult to ignore and the disbelievers in global warming have not addressed them.

There are also plenty of accounts in scientific literature about the variation in our Sun's radiation levels over time, which is as likely as any to be the cause of global temperature variation.

I would have you note that the burden of proof is on those who positively assert something (human agency in global warming) rather than the skeptic. Any honest scientist must agree.

Non-scientists are not really qualified to make conclusions. I really don't put too much stock in what non-scientists say just like I don't put much stock into my optometrist's opinion about my tooth ache. I ask the dentist.

More than just non-scientists - a biologist may be a scientist but have done nothing remotely to do with global warming. Likewise in all the sciences. So it comes down to a handful of ideologically-bent "scientists" who promote global warming to secure research funding. Are there any non-compromised scientists who would agree with them? I would think not!

Well, not exactly ALL left, Sean. If you remember correctly, it was yours truly that gave you an exclusive interview when Shrillary appeared on the Letterman show and I managed to get a ticket. You were able to report on how the audience was threatened by one of the producers to "be nice" or the Secret Service might want a word with you (original thread in archives somewhere).
