Kofi Annan has appointed Jimmy Carter and Prince Charles to meet with the NHL players to see if they will play if the owners agree to donate the salaries of the players to condoms-for-piece fund for UN Piece-seekers in Ivory Coast.)

Probably 3/4 of America didn't even know the season was on hold.

NHL should get some scabs on the ice...not to break the unions but because scabs are so much more intriguing or stories... During the baseball strike when scabs played, it was like living in an alternate universe. Very interesting to watch and now think back to. Oil Can Boyd anyone? lol.

Good!!! Maybe now I will eventually be able to go to a Flyers game without giving up my children's potential inheritance . There might even be "freebies" incentives like the AHL and Arena football to make it more fun .

"This is a sad, regrettable day that all of us wish could have been avoided." - NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, February 16th, 2005.

"Not nearly as sad and regrettable a day as February 1, 1993, when you left the NBA as just another New York Lawyer to begin the NHL's decent into the current abyss" - Hat-Trick, February 16th, 2005.

I do feel sorry for the dissapointed fans but you know what they can now go out and do something else more gratifying such as a personal hobby or something for themselves. That is a lot better than looking at the TV watching millionaires skate around a rink and box each other...

I am a happily retired pro-sports watcher for life is to short and its much more gratifying to do things for yourself whether it personal involvemenet in sports or a good recreational hobby.

I'm not a big hockey fan but the playoffs were one time in the year to get together with some old chums and watch Toronto lose again.

Yea!! for the owners. They stood their ground. Fire them all and bring in a whole new bunch of rookies. I dont see how the NHL recovers from this. Not that I care.

Now that the season has been canceled, ESPN has announced that they will begin covering the London Commodities Exchange in place of hockey.
