I am older. So is everyone I know. We are all in favor of the SS reform. None of us belong to AARP.
I think AARP may be inflating their membership numbers. They begin sending out membership cards when people turn 50. The hook is a bunch of so-called *discounts* and the rest is advertisements for car/home/life insurance. Their magazine is political advocacy. They keep sending stuff even if you don't join.
BTW, the same discounts and insurance is available thru AAA and many places will simply ask you if you belong to AAA when you go to pay a resturant tab or a hotel bill.
Someone needs to investigate the true membership numbers at AARP.
