I'm sorry, perhaps you misunderstood. My statement indicated that none of us can "get in" on our own righteousness, because we are all sinners. But for Christ's sacrifice and grace, we would all be doomed. Do you think it's a rather human trait to think something like "Yeah, I'm a sinner, but I'm not as much of a sinner as ________ is....________'s sin is really bad"?

I'm sorry, perhaps you misunderstood Jesus when he said

Matthew 19
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Notice that JESUS did NOT say, that he would die for everyone's sins. Notice that JESUS did NOT mention GRACE, NOT once! Instead he tells people to REPENT and KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS. The author of John mentions grace and the author of Acts mentions grace, but JESUS NEVER MENTIONS GRACE! Also for what its worth, GRACE EXISTED IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, prior to JESUS.

Do you think its human nature to want to shirk RESPONSIBILITY? To want to take the easy way out?

So you don't believe in the rest of the New Testament, just the words of Jesus?

Do you think its human nature to want to shirk RESPONSIBILITY? To want to take the easy way out?

It probably is, actually.
