How dare you? Amelia is one of the most thoughtful, intelligent and rational individuals ever to participate on FreeRepublic. And she doesn't lie. Not to others, and certainly not to herself.
In my Bible, Jesus had sympathy for those who were considered sinners, unclean, and demon-possessed. He healed them and forgave their sins.
Jesus seems to have saved his contempt for those who were contemptuous of the "sinners" - the scribes and Pharisees who felt they were much more righteous than others.
Today, some of those who claim to be acting in Jesus' name seem to act more like the scribes and Pharisees, IMO.
It's probably a big misunderstanding on my part though, isn't it?
