America's top radio talker Rush Limbaugh was greeted like a rock star on Monday during an appearance in San Jose, California, while taking a few days off from his regular broadcast to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament.
The packed house at the San Jose Civic Auditorium "welcomed him with a standing ovation," reported the San Jose Mercury News. "There were no hecklers or protesters, and the only shouts were of love for the host," the paper said.
"We are in the midst of a seminal historic shift in this country," Limbaugh told the audience. "The Democrat party and the media have lost their monopoly. They don't rule the roost anymore."
The watershed political moment would have amazed his father, the top talker observed. "If my father could see what's happened today, just the sight of the Democrat party would extend his life by 10 years."
That's one reason conservatives have nothing to fear from Hillary Clinton, he assured those on hand.
Still, the GOP faces a major political problem that can no longer be ignored, he warned. "The Republicans' failure to understand the American people's building rage on illegal immigration" could give rise to a third party candidate, he said, who could tip the 2008 presidential race to the Democrats, much the same way Ross Perot's campaign did in 1992.
Limbaugh also seemed to revise earlier criticism of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for not being conservative enough, telling the audience, "I was wrong."
2,700 people paid $40 a piece to see Limbaugh live. Proceeds from the event will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a charity Limbaugh has supported since he went national in 1988.
No, they don't talk about their service because it isn't relevant to the discussion. Obviously, if I know they served, I've have discussed it with them, albeit privately. And that doesn't take into account the many, many FReepers who have served and do make note of it, I defy you to find one post I have ever made to any of them that doesn't "treat" them correctly.
Tonk WANTS to talk about his, so it's his business to do so. Why does this matter so much to you?
It is called hijacking a thread, and it is considered to be very rude. If you go back to the beginning of this thread you will see that there is absolutely NO mention of Kerry. This thread had nothing to do with him. Tonk posted his 'information' numerous times and was ignored, that is until I was STUPID enough to respond. Note that I was warned, and I ignored the warning. Lessons learned.
HE DIDN'T EVEN MENTION KERRY!!!
I did go back and read. I just don't think it's right to tell someone to move along and get one with their life and all that other B.S. It's sort of like spitting in their face all over again. Any vet who reads this thread will likely come away feeling like they will be jumped on if they bring up their service - maybe not by you, but by other FReepers. What another person brings to a discussion may not seem "relevant" to you, but obviously the person bringing them up feels that they are. You don't want to read his posts, all you gotta do is scroll down. Why get in an arguement over it? I just don't get that.
Summary AND Pic
Put up or be quiet
His comments on Ross Perot are 100% on the money. If people only had to choos between Bush Sr. and Clintoon, Sr. might have won- but he gave us the biggest tax increase in hisotry (t the time).
Perot was a rage against the excess of govt. Bush Sr. lost that vote. Newt Gingrich successfully tapped it and gave us the Republican congress in 94 that cause the 'toon to sign welfare reformm and a bunch of other good things he NEVER would have.
If clintoon had a democratic congress, we would be mostly socialist by now- his 1992 budget projected $750billion deficits by the year 2000. Instead we had the closest thing to a balanced budget (thanks newt! and ross!)
W better get this message FAST (before the next congressional elections)
Star- I completely agree.
Tom- threads get hijacked ALL THE TIME! You will be one busy dude if you go 'round fighting with all the folks.
Your homework, still not done.
Please give me a brief summary on what Rush has said about these "goalposts"
Note the dates also
"Rush won't even ask him, in 2005,
when he will sign Form 180.
Or why Hanoi Kerry is still in the US Senate.
Or when Hanoi Kerry will set the record straight
on his false testimony in April 71"

Remember you accused me of "moving goalposts"
I'm sure I don't even want to see it ~ I am maintaining an even keel today and that would proabably ruin it! LOL!!! Tonk, you have every right to post your opinions and feelings here and anywhere else. Like I've said before, don't let the turkeys get ya down.
Alright, I'm hijacking this thread to talk about Rush. LOL
I am really curious of this Tom Sullivan and his background. Most weak guest hosts prop themselves up by taking frequent callers. But this man just drones on and on.
Why in the world would Rush have him?
Lord have mercy...would you puulease put a sock in it?
I read it. Happy?
I give up. My life is too short to try to convince you that yours is to and you are wasting your time.
You know why Rush doesn't spend all day talking about what you think he should? Because he realises it would be an ineffective waste of time. It's the same here for you - but you don't get it and keep ranting.
Most folks here think you are a loon. You've become the village idiot of FR.
Everyone here would get Kerry out of the senate if they could. The difference is they realize what that takes - and your tone def message repeated over and over again isn't it.
I could understand this during the election... maybe. But it's over. And Kerry will not loose his senate seat. So at least find a new hobby that gets a result.
You realize how many voters you could have registered in the time you spend trolling FR? Or how many op-eds you could have written?
Maybe it's easy for you to stay here on FR and post this same crap day after day because you're afraid to break out of it and try something new. Like fly fishing. Or just being happy reading a book. Or hanging out at the bar with the other vets - American Legion outpost guys.

Anyone who knows me, and what else I do, knows you are the loon! LOL
PS Thanks for NOT believing in the U.S. Constitution Amendment 14 Sec 3
Thanks for supporting Kerry.
Bye DU troll!
You have a VERY informative FR Profile page.
LOL -- El Rushbo 2050, the all-knowing all-caring cybernetic entity.
Ask him why his home page states that we shouldn't care which party caused the problem; just solve it!
Now that was just not nice.
The difference is they realize what that takes - and your tone def message repeated over and over again isn't it.
Pretending it hasn't happened won't make it go away. The more people who see Tonk's message, the better the chance that we CAN effect a change.

Now you're showing how little you know about Tonk.
