"Take this quiz: What is the defninitive common ancestor between man and chimp? Now why are you sure there is one?"

There are many reasons to know there was a common ancestor. One indicator is the vitamin C gene deficiency.
Another is the greater similarity of our DNA to chimp DNA than any other animal.

We don't have to find the common ancestor, which might have only existed for a very short period of time probably in Africa, before it split into several different populations that would speciate according to the environment of the ecological niche they inhabited.

Why should we assume they evolved this way and were not created? Now, your answer is going to be able to be distilled into something along the lines of "you're stupid" or "you're a religious fanatic incapable of imagination" which I suspose is the same thing as "you're stupid"

For the record, I don't reject the idea of man and ape having common descent but there is nothing wrong skepticism about it either..

We don't have to find the common ancestor,

Nor do we have have to duplicate the process in which this common ancestor could evolve into chimp and man -- which is convenient.
