Hebrew verb tenses are difficult to translate into modern language. They do not have the same time sense as we do.

I guess you can read it as a new thing, but I see nothing convincing that you would need to do it.

It would be like I would say to you:

Whenever you look at your middle finger of your left hand, you will think of me. ;-)

There are more interesting rainbow accounts among the ancients: Iris, goddess of the rainbow.

Anything said in the Bible that contradicts the best scientific reasoning must be considered a miracle, and believed or not believed on faith.

And similarly, at base, the scientific method and its results must also be believed or not believed on faith. First principles (including belief in the correspondence of sensory perception with external reality, if that is ones first principle) ultimately rest on faith.

Belief in the Flood as a miracle makes sense as an article of faith, but it is nonsense to assert that it has left a physical record.

Believing that the Flood was real and believing that it left a physical record are two different things. I should have left out the word “physical” when I asked “What is your basis for rejecting the Old Testament testimony concerning the physical reality of the Flood...” to avoid implying that the Flood was not a supernatural event.

The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.
He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. – Matthew 16:1-4

The above quote is not a condemnation of science or scientists, but of those who would subject the Creator to the creation.

I get the impression you are making it much to complicated.

Either Jesus existed and was who he says he was or not.

That is the right hand.

You know, I feel like a retard, but I can't figure out how to post a picture here. I have several people and a web site that told me the html code, but I must be leaving out a step.

There are several other options:

1) Jesus did not exist
2) Jesus existed but was not who he said he was
3) Jesus existed but everything said about him is not true

Talk origins has some nice papers on why the Noah story and other literalist crapola are silly. Go here:

www.talkorigins.org/index.html

Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;
Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.
Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; -2 Peter 1:13-2:5

Then he leads us to Heaven by the gift of the Holy Spirit- all this is God’s Grace.

This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. –1 John 5:6-9

Now is there anything you want to know about evolution, or do you still insist on questioning my Christianity?

This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
-2 Peter 3:1-6

In post 1041, you suggested I “[s]top trying to conflate bronze age superstition with the Gospel.”. What prevents someone from suggesting you stop trying to conflate Roman age superstition with science? You’ve already made science the judge of Scripture.

ah... that old equation

variables:
God IS
God is NOT
You believe
You do not believe

Results:
God is, and you believe = you win the big prize
God is not, and you believe = no harm, no foul
God is not, and you do not believe = wow, you gambled and won. so what?
God IS, and you do not believe = you are in deep doo-doo

I forget which mathmetician and philosopher came up with that oversimplified tripe.

the real variable set is, in fact, infinite.
the real variable set is infinity squared.

that's my left hand (it is a photo of a reflection)

the script is easy:

you will need to have an online pic-dump from which to source your images.

I use http://www.photobucket.com
it is free, and big enough for my purposes

What I said covered all of those. Jesus is who he said He is, the Son of God. Or he is not the son of God.

Whether everything He said is true or not is moot if he is not the Messiah.

"You’ve already made science the judge of Scripture."

"If sound science appears to contradict the Bible, we may be sure that it is our interpretation of the Bible that is at fault." Christian Observer, 1832, pg. 437

"Christians should look on evolution simply as the method by which God works." Rev. James McCosh, theologian and President of Princeton, 1890

What do some old Jewish books tell us about evolution?

In my opinion: NOTHING

Be free to belief in what ever you want but don't mess around with science.
Some superior being did it is not an explanation to anything. With that attempt to science we wouldn't even have fire in our caves.

But never "If the Bible appears to contradict sound science, we may be sure that it is our interpretation of sound science that is at fault." Unlike Scripture, Science never makes a mistake. Behold your God!
