Well, then, I guess that the elder Bush is not Deep Throat.

GHWB is at the Super Bowl, so he must not be terribly ill.
To: prion
I heard that it could have been Pat Buchanan, Dr. Kissinger, or Al Haig, Jr., too.

I had heard a long time ago that Al Haig was most likely the culprit. Still my vote is John Dean.

Wiseass. Everybody knows it's Elvis - he's been living in a trailer park in Louisiana for the past 29 years. All those fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches finally got to his ticker.

Papers prepare obituaries years in advance so that they are prepared when the event does happen. Has someone confirmed that Deep Throat actually is near death? The existence of a prepared obituary proves nothing.
Now, let's re-cap. Who is seriously ill and might be DT?

But poor Deep Throat will be dead, and we'll have only Bob Woodward's word to believe. Woodward is well known for his docu-fictions, in which he's claimed things based "on at least two or more witnesses", when these witnesses had to have been imaginary in a great many cases.

David Gergen is alive and well. A little too well. So unless Woodward is planning to kill Gergen, I would say this is a desperate cry for attention on Woodward's part.

Exactly. When Elvis found out that 'special federal agent badge' that Nixon arranged for him to have wasn't worth the tin it was pressed from, he was dayum urinated off. (substituted proper medical term for being p----d off due to earlier condemnation by an unnamed FReeper who took offense at my colorful prose) Anyway, the only reason Elvis lasted this long was because he started using lite-peanut butter, and had his sandwiches fried in PAM (c) instead of Wesson oil.

Didn't the article originate with Poynteronline?
That is the website for the Skool for future Journolisps. Tragically left. Tragically loopy.
Isn't it wonderful that we have a Skool to teach journolisps how to think with only part of their brains?
