Memo to self - looks like our guess was incorrect...according to the news report below:

"Merabishvili pointed out that Zhvaniya was on a visit to Raul Yusupov, Vice-Governor of Kvemo Kartly territory, who also died of natural-gas poisoning.
The Minister said the Premier's guards, who stayed outdoors, grew worried when the Prime Minister did not respond to telephone calls for a long time. So, the guards decided to break down the door of the apartment at about 04:30. They found the bodies of the Prime Minister and the Vice-Governor. Merabishvili said, "This was an accident caused by a natural-gas leak from an Iranian-made gas heater".

Zhvaniya was married and is survived by three children."

Why did everyone assume KGB plot Like some bad novel?

To continue to blame the KGB means they would have to have sold the guy the Iranian made gas heater - waited for just thr right moment and then made it malfunction - on que.
